Man Receives Two Years in Prison for Violating the Clean Water Act

A man from Kentucky faces two years in prison for falsifying reports of sewage sludge being removed from his facility. The Clean Water Act requires you to report the amount of sludge removed but the facility reported that over 55 tons of sludge had been removed when none had. The sludge, instead of properly being removed, was dumped in the Tug Fork River. Along with the two-year sentence, he faces $250,000 in fines.
