Stormwater pilot program for Southern California

The Metropolitan water district of Southern California has approved a 5 million dollar plan to build infrastructure for capturing stormwater runoff. Stormwater runoff can have harmful chemicals that can damage beaches, and with more than 136 billion gallons of stormwater runoff each year, this could be a win for conservation as well as the districts to stop importing water to Southern California. This program is designed to see what captured volumes will be and the costs on a small scale to judge its worth on a larger scale.
