Oregon CWA Violation

A man in Oregon discharged more than 1,000 gallons of oil into the Willamette River and has plead guilty. The man walked away from his truck for a phone call while pumping oil into an underground storage tank. Sentencing for the violation is scheduled for October. A federal violation of the Clean Water Act (CWA) can result 1 year of jail time and fines of $2,500 to $25,000 a day.
